beetle

i like the big shadow this little guy is casting.

don't think it is a ladybug, but rather one of those evil beetles that the city of toronto released a few years ago to battle some aphid problem. brilliant idea, releasing millions upon millions of stinking foriegn insects to control a small and not terribly annoying bunch of tiny flying things that would have died off within a month or so anyway. after that we were stuck with not only a bunch of aphids, but so many evil 'ladybugs' they were piling up like snowdrifts in the corners of everything when they started dying. gah. and let us not forget how my cats LOVED eating them. little known side effect of cats eating evil beetles. evil beetles = evil gas! it was toxic!!

anyway, enough about beetles.

p.s. don't get your nose too close to these guys, they stink. i know because i tried.
